Nice Flax Bread With a Taste of Apple
Ingredients
- 1 Lrg - 250g - Apple peeled & cored (Granny or Honeycrisp)
- 1 cup - 180g - All Purpose Flour
- 1/2 cup - 45g - Golden Flax Flour
- 1/2 cup - 100g - Granulated Sugar plus more for garnish
- 1/2 cup - 110g - Packed Light Brown Sugar
- 3/4 tea - 3.4g - Cinnamon
- 1/2 tea - 3.6g - Baking Powder
- 1/4 tea - 3g - Salt
- 1/4 tea - 3g - Nutmeg
- 2 Lrg - - Large Eggs beaten
- 1/2 cup - 120 - Butter melted
- 1/2 cup - 60 - Chopped Walnut or Pecan (California)
Directions
- 8" x 4" Loaf Pan
- Parchment Paper
- Cheese Grater
- Mixing Bowl
- Cooling Rack
- Preheat Oven 350 *F.
- Grease an 8X4 inch loaf pan & line with parchment paper
- Peel, core & grate the Apple through Cheese Grater (lrg holes) or chop into very small pieces
- Whisk together all dry ingredients
- Stir in Eggs and melted Butter until fully combined
- (Batter will be thick)
- Stir in Apple and Nuts
- Transfer to pan and sprinkle with additional sugar
- Bake 60 minutes, or until a toothpick pulls clean
- Cool in pan 10-15 minutes
- Remove from pan, cool 30 minutes before slicing
